Thailand Immigration Law – Work Permits For Foreigners

In order to work in Thailand an foreigner requires a work permit. There are increasingly high penalties for both employers and individuals if work is being carried out without a work permit. An employer may file an application on the foreigner’s behalf in advance of commencing work, but the Work Permit will not be issued until the foreigner has entered Thailand. We provide advice and administration services to arrange work permits.

An application can take from 4 to 12 weeks to be issued. Please note working is prohibited until the work permit is issued.

The following documents are required to apply for a work permit:

3 photos – head and shoulders, size 2 x 2.5 inches
Passport copy showing a valid Non-Immigrant Visa – each page signed
School leaving certificate – translated into Thai and verified by Embassy. If an original English document no translation is required.
Health Certificate – issued by a local doctor or hospital

Job Description

Shareholder list
Chart of Employees *
Map showing office/business location
2 photos of office/business
Company Tax No., balance of previous year or letter confirming no tax *
Resume in English
Form WP 2 *
References – to show ability to perform job
If the business is registered abroad – Company & Shareholder register
